Why Little Acorns

More than a job. A chance to make a lasting difference.

Little Acorns Children’s Center is honored to partner with your family in nurturing your child’s growth and development. We exist to provide a safe, loving, and developmentally appropriate environment rooted in Christian faith and values. Living on the Central Coast gives us ample opportunity for outdoor play and exploration. We have multiple play yards totaling over 13,000 square feet of safe play areas.

At Little Acorns, we’re building a place where children are known, families are supported, and teachers are valued. As a founding team member, you’ll have the unique opportunity to help shape our culture from the very beginning.

We’re currently accepting résumés and will begin interviews mid-August. Our founding team will receive two paid weeks of training, professional development, and classroom preparation before we welcome children.

Faith & Learning

Faith-based practices are incorporated in age-appropriate ways:

  • Simple prayers before meals
  • Christian songs and stories
  • Emphasis on values such as kindness, gratitude, and respect

Participation supports our mission while honoring families’ diverse backgrounds.

Licensing & Staff

Our dedicated staff meet all required qualifications and maintain up-to-date CPR and First Aid certifications to ensure the highest level of care. We aim for lower than required staff-to-child ratios which allow us to maintain support for individualized attention and safety.

Meet the Director: Cindi Wallace

Cindi Wallace serves as the Director of Little Acorns with over 30 years of experience in teaching, leadership, and caring for children and youth from infancy through high school. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Child Development, a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential, and a CTC Site Supervisor Permit. Cindi has worked across a wide range of settings including county early learning centers, private in-home nanny care, preschools, and both elementary and high schools. Additionally, she serves in leadership roles within children’s, youth, and family ministries.

Cindi is deeply rooted in her faith and trusts in Jesus as the foundation and guide for this new mission of starting a Children’s Center. She considers it a privilege to partner with families in the care and early development of their children, recognizing the great responsibility and honor that trust represents. She and her husband of 30 years are grateful parents of two grown children, a daughter recently married and pursuing her Master’s in Special Education at Cal Poly SLO, and an 18 year old son following his passion for music. Cindi’s heart is to create a safe, loving, and faith-filled environment where children can not just grow and learn but also thrive as the whole family feels invested in and deeply cared for.
